Moobert

Moobert was born breach, miraculously survived only to be attacked by his own mama! The farmer removed Moobert for his safety and hand raised him for months. Moobert blended with the family, thinking he was their pet dog and following his human mom around the house. When Moobert was ready to be weaned he was listed for sale. The farmer was trying to find another family who would keep him as a pet, but being a boy calf the reality was he would likely be raised and then processed for meat. When we heard about this adorable guy, we couldn’t say no! We contacted the farmer and raced to pick him up. The farmer was only taking cash payment on a first-come, first-serve basis so we knew we had to act fast. We were unable to transport him at that moment, so we called in a favor from a friend, Nancy Diaz. Luckily, Nancy was able to rescue Moobert and bring him to his new home. His growth is stunted due to his rough start to life, but other than that he is thriving and doing well! Black Angus his age typically weigh 1500 lbs and are very large. Moobert is about waist high and will likely not grow much bigger.

We adore Moobert at The Phoenyx Farm & Sanctuary and think he is absolutely perfect.

If you love Moobert as much as we do, you can sign up to be his monthly sponsor and continue to assist in his rescue mission!
